'Silent Spinner' review

First impression: 

When I first saw it I thought it looked smaller than Willow's old wheel, but seeing as I didn't have them to compare I didn't really know if I was right or not. I needed the silent wheel anyway so I didn't have much choice- I had to buy it.

Reasons I chose to buy it:

- I didn't have much choice, Willow needed a silent wheel so my family could sleep
- It looked well designed and sturdy

Story behind getting the new wheel:

My hamster had been keeping my whole family awake at night, and I had to face it: they were getting pretty cranky. I knew I had to buy another quieter wheel, so that my family could get a decent night's sleep.

When I got it home I realized I was right, it was smaller. It was still an acceptable size for a hamster wheel, but I wasn't happy about it anyway. Willow loved her bigger pink wheel, and I didn't want to replace it with a smaller wheel- even if it was only slightly smaller.

I looked online to see if I could get the next size up. Turns out they only have the size I got and the next size up is HUGE. I mean, big enough for a large chinchilla. It's something like 12", and that definitely wouldn't fit in my cage... Why don't they make a size between them>?? It's so stupid.

Willow seems to like the wheel, and it definitely is a lot quieter, but I still feel really mean because of the size... What do you think- is it too small?

Pros:

- Nice colours

- Completely silent, as promised

- Good for your hamster's feet- the plastic is smooth.

- Your hamster can't nibble and break the centre of the wheel like they can with most wheels.

- Is very sturdy and well designed

Cons:

- Quite expensive

- Doesn't come in sensible sizes. This is a little too small for my likings.

- Had to swap the stand, as the stand it came with was too tall to fit in my cage.

- When the hamster stops running the wheel rocks around quite a lot, and Willow has to wait a while
   before stepping out. I think this must be quite dizzying for her!

Overall, I would give this wheel about 4 stars. It is 5 stars for quietness, but the size of it really does annoy me!

Willow's Post - Hannah's back!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to update you all on how everything is going now Hannah is back from holiday :)

When Hannah got back she was very excited and she woke me up from my snooze to say hello and give me a hug. I was tired at first, but once I had woken up I was excited too.

Hannah took a few photos of me, and she let me run around for a little bit while she watched, then she held me some more.

I missed her while she was away. Her sister fed me but she didn't hold me much .. not like Hannah anyway. Hannah holds me every day mostly, unless there is a reason why she can't.

I like that cause it lets me stretch my legs a bit and I can explore.

When she put me back in my cage I went and grabbed the food she left there for me, and snuck it into my secret stash. [*don't tell anyone, but it's my house.. shhh*]

I'll talk more next Friday about what's happening and keep you updated.

Today is wordless Wednesday and Halloween! Argh! :S

So I have decided to skip this week's wordless Wednesday, and just do a Halloween post instead. How does that sound?

I made Willow a little spider cloak to wear, but she doesn't like it much :(... so most of the photos are of her in a trick-or-treating bag. Hope you like the photos!

I have also added a slideshow, but I don't know if it works in all parts of the world. Sorry if the slideshow won't work- I have also added a collage so you can look at that instead!

New blog schedule?

I have decieded that I haven't been doing enough posts on a regular basis.

At the moment when I have spare time I will write a post and probably publish it straight away when I've finished writing it, but that means that if I have a busy week I hardly ever post...

So, to solve the problem, I have decided to do a couple of weekly and monthly things. If I have a lot of time one week I can always write extra posts, or write some and schedule them for the next week.

You may have noticed that I have started doing 'Willow's Post's and 'Wordless Wednesday' each week, and I will continue to do this every week from now on. I will also be hosting a monthly caption contest on the first of the month each month - so keep your eye out for that.

I hope having these regular posts will make my blog better, and help my readers know when I will be posting!

Please feel free to comment on whether you like this new schedule and the new posts, or what you think of this blog is missing etc. Feedback would be greatly appreciated.
