Hamster drawing with Halo for Lolly

I drew a hamster a few days before Lolly died, but after that I completely forgot about it.

I found it then added a halo to its head to represent Lolly, though the hamster I drew isn't supposed to be Lolly, she is a different colour.

Still, here is the little drawing I did (I drew the hamster but not the halo).

It is dedicated to Lolly.

If anyone wants to know the software used to draw it, I used a bamboo pad and used 'artrage studio' (which comes with the tablet) to draw it.

What not to feed your hamster...

Hi everyone!

After the sad loss of Lolly I was unsure of whether to carry on with 'The Hamster Guide', though I have already done a few pages which would seem like a waste if I didn't use them.

I think I will continue, but I am still not sure whether I will or not.

For now here is a quick preview. The book would be around A5 size, and this would be a double spread. Sorry if you can't read it that well at the moment, it would be bigger if/when printed.

As for Lolly, I miss her so much, but she lived a happy life and did not die in too much pain and that is all I could have asked for.

I was with her when she died, so I know I loved her to the very last minute of her life.

So for now I am alright, though still very sad.
                   

R.I.P Lolly ♥

Lolly passed away last night.

She was a great hamster who I will never forget and who I miss so much already.

She was getting ill, (which is why I haven't been blogging as much), and I came back from a week long trip to find her even sicker. (she was being looked after by my parents)

I had a few days with her until last night she passed away.

She was with me when she suffered a stroke. She lost the use of her legs and body and started having difficulty breathing.

It all happened very quickly. The stroke happened and she died 5 minutes later.

She died in her little bed which I won from Inky's giveaway, made by friends4fuzzies. She had only had it for about a week, but already loved it.

She looked so peaceful when she died, and I knew she had had a wonderful life and was now out of her short burst of pain from the stroke.

I took this photo the day before she died. She seemed old but not at all in pain then.

Although I have had hamsters before, I think I had forgotten the pain you go through when they pass away. There is an empty space where her cage should be, and an empty space in my life where I should be playing with her or cleaning her out.

I know the pain will clear, but for now I miss her and can't seem to get over that she's gone.

Thank you to Inky and friends4fuzzies for the bed; I think it really cheered Lolly up before she left us.

The Hamster Guide?

You may have been wondering why I haven't blogged for so long. Well, I am working on a mini book called 'The Hamster Guide'.

I have only started it very recently, but I have just finished the front and back cover, which are below.

I would really appreciate any feedback on the cover or on the idea in general... should I do it or not?

This book would be a big project for me, but I think I am mainly going to work on it in the summer - so don't expect it to be finished too soon!

Well here are the results!

The three that didn't use sawdust used either 'megazorb' or 'careFRESH'.

One person got a new bag of their replacement for sawdust every 1-2 months.

Another got the giant deluxe bags, so only replaces their every 3 months.

Most people using sawdust bought a new bag every 18 - 21 days, which is around the same as me too :)
